Deregulation and Choice
How
does having a choice in retail electricity providers help keep costs down?
The
benefit of having choice is the opportunity to control and manage certain
costs that at one time were completely beyond the control of the business
manager. With the onset of electricity deregulation, managers and business
owners can now evaluate a variety of supplier choices, including the local
utility, in an effort to identify and contract with the most cost-effective
and knowledgeable supplier of power to their business.

If choice is so good, why would
electric bills go up?
The amounts you are billed for electricity
service are made up of many different components. The amount and extent of
variation in each bill can be caused by changes in costs, changes in utility
rates, and changes in usage, No changes in energy cost will occur if a fixed
or block-priced program is developed with Entergy Solutions.
Utility rates may change from time to time, either due to provisions in the
utility tariff that allow such changes, or by the local regulatory body
approving modifications in the utility's rates and charges. And yet another
factor impacting your electricity bill is the usage at the facility. If demand
increases, even with a fixed price and stable utility rates and charges, the
total electric bill will increase.

How can I make the best decision
about whether to stabilize a portion or all of my electricity costs?
Entergy
Solutions can assist by providing comparative data and other supporting
information about historic pricing trends. While the past is not an infallible
predictor of prices moving forward, at the very least it can provide the basis
for some evaluation. In addition, the comparison of the block pricing and the
estimated index price can give some indication of what portion of the usage
(and costs) should be fixed.

Switching
Will I incur any fees when I switch
to Entergy Solutions?
No. No fees or hidden charges will be incurred
when you choose Entergy Solutions as your power supplier.

Will Entergy Solutions need to
replace my existing hardwire and wires?
No. No capital expenditure is
required for any additional equipment of to retrofit an installation. The
power will continue to be delivered through the existing transmission and

Will the reliability of our
facility's electric service be affected by switching to Entergy Solutions?
No,
not at all. The local utility company retains the responsibility for the
integrity of the local delivery system. ENTERGY SOLUTIONS will provide the
power to the local utility company for re-delivery to your facility.
Will I experience any problems with
my local utility if I switch to Entergy Solutions?
No, in fact, most
utilities are encouraging large users on their systems to select an
electricity service company as their supplier. There are many advantages that
the local utility company is unable to provide. As a result, utility customers
selecting a third-party provider do not encounter any difficulties from the
local utility company.

What happens if I lose electric
service at my facility?
Such an event is an unanticipated event,
beyond the control of either you or Entergy Solutions. During this period,
there is no obligation on your part to pay for any power. Entergy will reduce
the delivery to the local network for your account until service is restored.
At such time, Entergy will once again deliver the full amount of your power
requirements to the local network.

What happens if Entergy Solutions
fails to plan for enough power for my facility's needs?
In the
unlikely event that Entergy Solutions fails to plan for enough power for your
facility's requirements, you will continue to receive all the electricity your
facilities require. This electricity will be billed to you by Entergy at the
agreed-upon contract price—regardless of the price Entergy Solutions may have
had to pay for this additional power. In so doing, you are not exposed to
either operating or financial risks.
If, however, the shortfall is caused by an increase in the usage at your
facility, there are a variety of ways in which you and Entergy Solutions can
address this issue. It may involve a change in the contract allocation, a
change in pricing structure, or a simple adjustment to the delivery levels.
